Acuity Brands has a new commercial LED downlight from Lithonia Lighting that requires less installation time.
The RV Series retrofit LED downlights uses existing mounting pans to reduce installation time down to five minutes or less. When it comes to replacing an old commercial lighting system with new LED lighting systems, a lot of time and money is spent on the project. Lithonia's RV series can turn a week-long retrofit project into a task for a single day. Lowering installation time lowers the labor costs to retrofit, and the new product also promises other savings.
On top of an 83 CRI and a range of color temperatures, the RV series has a 50,000 hour service time. When it comes to commercial lighting, energy usage is high. The U.S. Energy Information Administration states that 21 percent of commercial sector electricity consumption was attributed to lighting in 2011. By design, LED fixtures save on energy costs, and Lithonia's new downlight has the added bonus of reducing replacement costs due to the phenomenal service time.
When the time for replacements does come around, maintenance crews will still only need a few minutes to remove the old fixtures and install new ones.
